Kristin Kelly is a co-founder of the Afromation Avenue Project, a community street art initiative working to preserve the cultural integrity of Black spaces throughout the city of Philadelphia. Mural Arts Philadelphia, together with Councilmember Quetcy Lozada’s Office and Impact Services Heart of Kensington Creates (HOKC) initiative, will dedicate the newest Afromation Avenue street art installation in Kensington on Saturday, August 8, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The free outdoor public event takes place at McPherson Square Library, 601 E Indiana Ave. Afromation Avenue installed its fourth iteration of curated, positive affirmation street signs in the Kensington community at four locations: McPherson Library, Free Church of St. John, Conwell Middle School, and Harrowgate Park. Kristin joins the show to further discuss the details behind the Afromation Avenue Project.
