Kroger Builds Biggest Store in Elkview

Kroger is making big moves in Elkview, West Virginia, breaking ground on a massive new store—the biggest non-Marketplace in the region—set to open early 2027 in the former K-Mart space at Elkview Crossings Mall. Construction is already underway, promising a revamped shopping experience with expanded product offerings and more jobs. This expansion follows the recent debut of Kroger’s first Marketplace in South Charleston, signaling a major retail push across West Virginia.
