from The Red Nation Podcast

Red Media is proud to announce the launch of Kuskalla, an Indigenous culture, language, and politics podcast in Quechua, Spanish, and English.  In this episode, Yojana Miraya (@OsccoMiraya) and Renzo Aroni (@renzoaronis)  interview Emily Thompson, a Ph.D. candidate in Social Anthropology at UC Berkeley. Her ethnographic research focuses on wartime photographers and Quechua-speaking victims and survivors in the aftermath of Peru's internal armed conflict (1980-2000) as well as the recent massacre in Ayacucho, where military forces killed ten people and injured scores on December 15, 2022. She also discusses her co-authored book, Quechua-Spanish-English Dictionary (Hippocrene Books, 2018), and her social interaction with Quechua-speaking women and youth in Ayacucho.
