KUT Interview: Austin Mayor Steve Adler On State Pre-Emption

Politico magazine recently asked some mayors around the country “What’s the biggest uncovered urban crisis right now?” In response, Austin Mayor Steve Adler said: “The use of state law to preempt municipal authority.” He told KUT's Jennifer Stayton he thinks it is economically and culturally short-sighted to hamper cities’ expressions of their values.
