from KUT News · host KUT News

“If Wishes Were Fishes.” “Austin Flamenco Festival: Forasteros.” “Jawbreaker.” “The Music Man.” These are some of the performances on the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center’s schedule in the Summer of 2018. The Long Center is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. It opened in 2008 with Austin Opera (then Austin Lyric Opera), the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Austin as its founding resident companies. Over the years, its offerings have broadened. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Long Center undertook a research and re-branding process with Austin, Texas-based firm Archer Malmo to find out what people think about the Long Center and how it could do better. KUT's Jennifer Stayton talked with President and CEO Cory Baker about the history and future of the Long Center.
