KUT Interview: The Rockmans On Male Identity

from KUT News · host KUT News

A couple of recent news items may not seem related, but there is a common thread. The “Texas Fatherhood Summit” at the University of Texas at Austin focused on policies and programs that support fathers and so by extension the whole family and community. Sexual assault charges against former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein have expanded to include a third woman. The common thread through these seemingly unrelated topics? The concept of what it means to be “male.” Not biologically - but behaviorally, attitudinally, or philosophically. Austin, Texas-area certified life and relationship coaches Junice and Rock Rockman told KUT's Jennifer Stayton they believe the idea of what it means to be male is in a state of flux right now – and is ripe for re-definition.
