Kyiv Under Fire After Ceasefire | Spokane News

Kyiv endured a devastating overnight barrage of drones and missiles, killing five and injuring at least 35, as attacks resumed after a brief ceasefire that allowed U.S. peace envoys to meet with Zelenskyy. Explosions tore through residential areas, schools, clinics, and warehouses, while the EU ambassador described the city as “exploding and burning.” Despite Ukraine’s air force intercepting most incoming threats, ballistic missiles remain a major challenge. Elsewhere, nearly 100 were evacuated in Sumy after drone strikes on a train, a rail worker died in Zaporizhzhia, and three were hurt in Odesa’s market. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister is calling for more interceptors and stronger allied pressure on Moscow as defenses grow increasingly strained.
