Kyle Douglas - DISTRIKT Music - Episode 180

Since the moment I began kamping with DISTRIKT in 2013, I knew I had a joined a special tribe of people. My life partner, Jenn, has been affiliated with them since DISTRIKT was known as The Deep End, circa 2009. It takes a special, determined group of people to work year-round, participating in weekend build sessions and organizing successful fundraisers throughout the world, in order to provide six wonderful day parties at Burning Man each and every year. Every time I am invited to DJ at a DISTRIKT event, whether it is a fundraiser or on Playa, I do not take it for granted. Ben and Kramer hold the DISTRIKT name to such a high standard musically. They carefully select all the DJ’s, paying close attention to individual styles, which only enhances the vibe of the party. This year at Burning Man, I had the privilege of performing during the 3-4:30pm slot on opening day Monday. This mix portraits my affection of dubby, tribal House, while also implementing the organic rhythmic sounds of Techno. The crowd’s energy was thick, playing a major part in the direction this set went.
