Kyle Teel hit a solo homer in the first inning to give the Sox an early 1-0 lead. Yoendrys Gomez was unable to keep the lead in the Sox's favor, but the offense did not quit. In the 6th inning, RBIs from Colson Montgomery and Andrew Benintendi tied the game at 4. The next inning, Tristan Gray would give Tampa a lead that they would not relent.
