Kyoto Animation Statement

from Animation For Adults: The AFA Podcast · host animationforadults.com

Like all of you, we are devastated by the news of the arson attack on The Kyoto Animation Studio in Japan this week. On behalf of the whole team, our thoughts are with all the victims and their loved ones and everyone affected by this atrocity.  We hope that the outpouring of love and support from the animation community and fans will bring them some comfort at this difficult time. We know that for many people animation plays a vital part in escapism and with dealing with the world. So at times like this, when the real world comes crashing in, it can be extra hard. We want you to know that you're not alone and we're thinking of you. If you feel the need for extra help, please talk to someone or get in touch with your local organisation such as MentalHealth.gov or Mind in the UK We won't be writing any more about the tragedy- much is still unknown, and we won't give any publicity to the perpetrator of this senseless act.  As a mark of respect for the victims, we'll be suspending our regular posting schedule for the rest of the week. Normal service will resume Monday. ComicCon can wait. If you feel the need to help, then there's a GoFundMe page started by US distributor Sentai Filmworks. Or you can buy digital files directly from KyoAni's site and money will go directly to the studio. -Team AFA
