Several families in KwaZulu-Natal say their lives are in limbo due to a backlog at the forensic laboratory of the South African Police Services. They say they have been unable to bury their loved ones because of the delays. The Ngcobo family in Hammersdale outside Durban has been waiting for the positive identification of a burnt body that was found last year. The family believes the body belongs to a relative, Nomvuselelo Ngcobo. Yesterday we spoke the deceased's sister, Nkosingphile who says they are still waiting for DNA results.
