La Crosse mayor candidate Kahlow on homelessness, city administrator, top priorities
from WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews · host WIZM News Staff
La Crosse mayor candidate Chris Kahlow in the WIZM studio discussing her top priorities, what to do about homelessness, and her stance on hiring a city administrator, plus dog parks and city outreach. Kahlow is running against Shaundel Washington-Spivey in the spring election, which concludes April 1. You can read more about the candidates on the WIZM election page. Washington-Spivey also joined La Crosse Talk last week. The first big topic we hit on was Kahlow's priority list, which included a focus on small business, strengthening neighborhoods, and investing in parks, pools, libraries and the like to improve residents' quality of life. We then got into some of the places where Kahlow and Washington-Spivey differentiate, as we have learned since the last debate. The first of those was a bit on the homeless issues in La Crosse, and Kahlow talks about what has been done and what to do going forward. After that, we discuss the potential hiring of a city administrator and things she sees that should happen beforehand. We began the show, though, as Kahlow trekked in the day after the snowstorm last week, discussing the snow emergency rules and city outreach through emails and text. We also ended up having a conversation about dog parks in La Crosse, as well.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
