La Crosse School Board candidate Adam Hoffer discusses referendums, buildings, budget and priorities

Adam Hoffer, a La Crosse School Board candidate, joined WIZM's La Crosse Talk to share his reasons for running, insights on the current state of the district, and the key decisions facing the next school board. Hoffer, the director of excise tax policy at the Tax Foundation, began by discussing how his professional experience could translate to the school board. The conversation covered a range of topics, including the district's potential $53.5 million referendum, which involves planning for a new school, remodeling an existing one, and closing three elementary buildings. Hoffer also addressed the district’s budget challenges, the earlier school year start date for next year, and the adjustment of school start times.
