La Crosse Schools superintendent, Dr. Engel, on $53.5 million referendum

from WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews · host WIZM News Staff

Dr. Aaron Engel, the School District of La Crosse superintendent, joins to further discuss the upcoming $53.5 million referendum question coming to voters in the fall election. While we again broke down the plan, we also talked about some of the things that need to happen if the referendum passes, including naming the new elementary school and what kind of things might be included in a new building. We also talked about how this plan has evolved, how much outreach the district is doing this time around and what the net impact would be on property taxpayers. There's a public informational session once a week through October, including from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton Elementary School. Here's the rest of the info sessions schedule. Some sidebar conversations we did have dealt with the new vape sensors in some bathrooms in school and whether there was ever a need to transition from turf field playgrounds to something more natural. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
