Cuando TVE comenzó a dedicar un espacio al ciclismo, allá por el año 1977, aún en diferido, para comentar el desarrollo de la Vuelta Ciclista a España, decidieron que el ritmo acompasado de los corredores debía ir acompañado por músicas del momento. En aquellos primeros programas, algunos todavía en blanco y negro, sonaron canciones de Patrick Hernández, Sheila B.Devotion, Earth, Wind and Fire, de unos incipientes heroes del tecno pop patrio llamados Azul y Negro y hasta de Paul McCartney con sus Wings. Acompañanos en este recorrido musical a golpe de pedal, rememorando aqueños años en los que la musica disco se dio la mano con las subidas a la montaña y las metas volantes.
