Labour Day Weekend Calgary Guide | Calgary News

Labour Day weekend kicks off with a mix of closures and open doors—most government offices, banks, and Canada Post are closed Monday, but city golf courses stay open. Landfills run normally, parking is free on-street (parkades still charge weekend rates), and the Calgary Parking Contact Centre is shut down. Recreation? Southland Leisure Centre opens 11 AM–5 PM, others are closed—including pools, arenas, and swim lessons. Retailers and groceries are mostly open but may have reduced hours. Transit runs Sunday schedules, except the CTrain Blue Line is shut between City Hall and Marlborough Sat–Mon (shuttles available). Downtown roads close Sunday for Pride Parade. Attractions: Zoo open as usual, TELUS Spark 9 AM–4 PM Mon, Heritage Park 10 AM–5 PM. Plan smart, enjoy the extra day off.
