Ladies of Golf: Hilary Cronheim, Director, USGA Golf Museum and Library

from Fore the Ladies Golf Podcast · host Fore the Ladies

We’re back after a few weeks away with another Ladies of Golf episode! It’s been a busy month hosting our first golf getaway with Pinehurst Resort and planning clinics for the remainder of 2021. As many of you know, Fore the Ladies is a passion project of mine. My full-time job is at the United States Golf Association, and for this episode, I welcomed a coworker! Hilary Cronheim is Director of the USGA Golf Museum and Library, where she oversees the execution of the museum’s strategic initiatives. What does that include? Well everything from leveraging digital media, enhancing access to research collections, and reinforcing its role as the world’s leading center for golf scholarship. Hilary has worked in some of the nation’s leading museums, such as the Art Institute of Chicago and the Frick Collection in New York City. With all of this experience, she shared with us how she came upon the USGA and its museum as well as why she wanted to work there. We also talk about the storied history of women caring for and communicating golf history. For example, the Museum’s first curator, Janet Seagle, led the Museum from 1963 to 1989 and women have been in leading roles ever since. I'll let Hilary take it from here, enjoy the conversation! - Abby
