Lady Wray’s Soulful Gospel R&B Journey | Spokane News

Lady Wray’s soul-stirring debut album “Cover Girl” blends gospel roots, hip-hop swagger, and modern R&B into a powerful anthem of resilience and self-discovery. Born from childhood church choirs and late-night listens to Lauryn Hill and Wu-Tang, her sound is both nostalgic and fresh. Tracks like “Calm” honor loss with grace, while the title track is a bold letter to her younger self chasing dreams. She’s proud of how she turned personal struggle into art — even without seeing herself as a natural writer. Now, she’s bringing that vibrant energy to Spokane for the first time at Boomjam Music Festival this Saturday, ready to dazzle a new crowd with her signature color, soul, and unstoppable spirit.
