Lake Fork Fishing Report: Chunky Bass, Slabby Crappie, and Perfect Conditions

from Lake Fork, Texas Fishing Report Today · host Inception Point AI

Howdy, y'all! Artificial Lure here with your Lake Fork fishing report for March 17, 2025. Sunrise is at 7:32 AM and sunset's at 7:31 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to wet a line. Weather's looking mighty fine today - partly cloudy skies with a high of 72°F and a light breeze out of the south. No tides to worry about on this big ol' lake, of course. Water temp's sitting pretty at 62°F, and the lake level is just a hair below full pool. That means the fish are fired up and ready to go! We've been seeing some real nice pre-spawn activity lately, with lots of chunky bass moving up shallow. This past week, anglers have been hauling in good numbers of largemouth in the 3-5 pound range, with a few topping 8 pounds. Crappie fishing's been hot too, with plenty of slabs being caught around brush piles and bridge pilings. For bass, you can't go wrong with a chartreuse and white spinnerbait or a lipless crankbait in red. Work those baits around points and creek channels in 5-10 feet of water. If you're sight fishing, try pitching a Texas-rigged lizard or creature bait to any beds you spot. Crappie are hitting minnows and small jigs in white or chartreuse. Try fishing them about 8-12 feet deep around structure. As for hot spots, I'd recommend checking out the area around the 515 bridge or up in Birch Creek. The points leading into Caney Creek have been producing too. Remember, folks - the big girls are moving up, so now's the time to land that trophy bass you've been dreaming about. Tight lines and good fishing to ya! This content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI.
