Lake Fork Fishing Report March 2025: Bass Bonanza, Crappie Crushers, and Trophy Spawners

from Lake Fork, Texas Fishing Report Today · host Inception Point AI

Howdy folks, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Fork fishing report for March 29, 2025. Let me tell ya, it's shaping up to be a mighty fine day on the water. We've got partly cloudy skies with temps in the low 70s. Sunrise was at 7:18 AM and sunset will be at 7:34 PM. No need to worry about tides on this inland lake, but water levels are sitting pretty at just 0.32 feet below full pool. Now, let's talk fish. This past week has been smoking hot for largemouth bass. We've seen a bunch of 5-7 pounders caught, with a few lucky anglers even landing some 10+ pound lunkers. The spawn is in full swing, with water temps ranging from 58-66 degrees. Those big mommas are moving up shallow to their beds. For you bass hunters, I'd recommend tossing some lipless crankbaits like a Rat-L-Trap or a Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad in red or chrome colors. Work those baits around points and in 3-8 feet of water. If that ain't working, try slowing down with a Texas-rigged worm or a jig around timber. Chatterbaits and spinnerbaits have also been producing in 1-3 feet of water. Crappie fishing's been decent too, especially around the bridges. Anglers are finding good numbers in 6-20 feet of water, with some moving shallow to spawn. Minnows and small jigs are your best bet, particularly under the Highway 515 bridge. As for hot spots, I'd say give the area around Birch Creek a shot. That north end's been on fire lately. Another good bet is working the points near the dam, especially early in the morning. The old Highway 17 roadbed has also been producing some real toad bass. Remember, folks, with the spawn in full swing, those big mama bass are up shallow. Keep an eye out for beds in the backs of coves and don't be afraid to pitch a soft plastic in there. But let's practice some catch and release on those spawners to keep Lake Fork producing trophy bass for years to come. That's all I got for today. Y'all stay safe out there and don't forget to send me pictures of your catches. Tight lines, everyone! This content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI.
