from Virginia Beach News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Despite stormy warnings, runners braved the elements for the 51st Lake Matoaka Trail Challenge, finishing dry on a tough 4.3-mile campus course. Special guests from William & Mary Athletics — including the AD, Advancement AD, and new Track Director — led tours and kicked off the race with a unique three-part command. Participants enjoyed exclusive access to the Rick Platt Training Center and swag from the defunct 1693 Alliance NIL collective. Race director Susan Hagel nailed the course despite pre-race rain, earning praise. Chris Geraghty and Jessica Anderson took top honors for men and women, crushing the terrain. Post-race, everyone celebrated with food and drinks — and only then did the rain finally arrive, ending the event on a wet but triumphant note.
