Lalibela - underjordiska kyrkor

Lalibela är en stad i Etiopien känd för sina elva kyrkor uthuggna direkt ur berget. Dessa byggdes under 1100- och 1200-talet under kung Lalibelas styre. Kyrkorna är monolitiska, vilket innebär att de är skapade av ett enda stenblock. Byggnadssättet, där man hugger neråt i berget och sedan urholkar strukturen, är unikt och tekniskt imponerande.
