LALIFF Films Explore Unresolved Trauma

LALIFF just wrapped up at the TCL Chinese Theatre with a powerhouse lineup of Latino talent, featuring gripping films that dive deep into unresolved trauma between parents and kids. Standout doc “The Broken R” follows an Ecuadorian filmmaker confronting his identity and Treacher Collins syndrome inherited from his father, while “Three Years Gone” delivers a raw, intense road trip thriller starring Julio Macias as a war vet who kidnaps his daughter — a haunting exploration of PTSD and family bonds. These films, and more from the festival, are must-watch stories gaining momentum for wider releases. Support the show: Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
