from My Big Idea

Hello and welcome My Big Idea, an ASOS Podcast giving young women advice and inspiration to start their own businesses. This week Asos's Siam speaks with Lana Elie of Floom.Floom is the dynamic new online destination for all your flower-gifting needs. It aims to simplify the process of ordering and sending premium flowers online. Beautifully curated bouquets and strong editorial content are placed front and centre of the website, along with a fierce commitment to supporting local florists and seasonal flowers.Floom brings the best of London’s independent florists together under one roof, or URL, and aims to simplify the process of ordering flowers, while also championing local boutiques. Customers simply enter their postcode for a curated selection of chic, seasonal bouquets, available to send immediately.Lana's is not a new name in the design world, having worked for Burberry, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and i-D to name a few of the heavyweight names on her impressive résumé. The florists partnered with Floom include That Flower Shop, located next to the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, Wandsworth’s Wild Wood London and Sprout in Hackney, which specialises in characterful houseplants.Lana aims to avoid the clichés so often used in flower arranging. She prefers more wild looking bouquets, using flowers of varying heights and all different colours, and often incorporating ferns and herbs.Lana tells Siam how she created Floom, how the brand grew in success and what she is planning in the future. This is Lana's big idea. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
