Land Back as Conservation

The effort to rematriate land, natural resources, and political sovereignty back to Indigenous peoples offers an important opportunity for restorative justice. It also offers an opportunity for better land conservation, moving from extractive colonial models of land management to more holistic management. Yet, land back has been met with caution from conservatives and even some environmental advocates.
