Laney-Hamilton Joins Mystics for Playoffs | Rutgers Basketball News

The Washington Mystics just snagged Betnijah Laney-Hamilton off waivers—she was with the New York Liberty, where she played 17 games and averaged nearly five points in 17 minutes before being released. Now, with the playoffs on the horizon, Laney-Hamilton brings championship DNA: she helped the Liberty win their first title in 2024, dropped 20 points in the Finals, and has All-Star and All-Defensive honors under her belt. A Rutgers legend with over 1,400 points and 900 rebounds, including a single-game rebounding record, she’s not just about scoring—she’s a defensive force ready to elevate D.C.’s playoff push against Phoenix on Sunday.
