Jennifer Menndoza and I share our stories about the compounding injustice and stereotypes forced on Latinas because we don't speak the “right language.” We discuss how we and other immigrants have a drastically different experience in this country -- bullying in school, difficulty communicating about concerning our family and kids. Each layer piles on the next causing added stress on families and particularly the children. A stress that often leads spousal abuse aggravated by the inability convey that to the police.
