Larry Hagner, the founder of The Dad Edge joins us on Dose of Leadership. The mission of The Dad Edge is to empower men to live and lead legendary lives.  The Dad Edge empowers men to create legendary marriages, create epic connections with our kids, master our personal finances, optimize our health (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), and become a leader within their family. Half of Larry's childhood was without a father figure and the other half was with toxic father figures that came and went.  He made one decision as a young boy, and it was that his kids would know who their father was.  He knew firsthand, the devastating effects of growing up without a positive father figure in my life. When he became a father for the first time in 2006, it became clear that he didn't have the skills to be the best for his sons.  He was short on patience.  He was quick to anger.  His marriage was mediocre at best.  He learned quickly that the desire to be a legendary father, man, and husband wasn't enough.  He had to learn the skills to actually do it.  In 2015, he decided to start The Dad Edge Podcast and learn the skills from experts to live a legendary life as a husband, father, and man. Over the past 6 years, I have interviewed over 700 experts on:  parenting, mindset, patience, communication, intimacy, optimizing health, and the power of community. In this episode we talk about the challenges of being a father, husband, and man in today's world.  We deep dive on being authentic, active listening, and the power of empathy.
