Last 3 detox supplements

from Today’s Gut Health Tip · host Melissa Hall Klepacki, M.Ac.

So Sorry I missed yesterday but I awoke at 4 am in agony with what I think was food poisoning. The first thing I did was take 2 capsules of activated charcoal.  90 minutes later when I threw up it was only water and black foam so I knew it had gotten into my system early enough to have an effect. Activated charcoal has a massive surface area and is often used to help treat a drug overdose or a poisoning.  When you take activated charcoal, drugs and toxins can bind to it. This helps rid the body of unwanted substances via your poop.  I always travel with it and keep it front and center in my medicine cabinet. I also love Premier Chem Detox by Premier Research Labs which contains modified citrus pectin or MCP  (the white part of a citrus rind that is chemically altered).  Once in circulation, MCP can bind to other substances, including heavy metals and a type of protein associated with atherosclerosis and cancer metastasis.   Lastly, Pure Body Clear from Energetix contains lots of liver cleansing herbs like milk thistle, artichoke leaf and barberry and also turmeric which works to reduce inflammation.  Clearing the liver and supporting it though any detox is crucial. I used charcoal immediately and will be using the other two products over the next 2-3 days while I recover.
