Last Words of Christ (part 4)

As Jesus hung on the cross, He was not silent. He still had things He needed to say, and those final words are significant. Over the last three Sundays, we looked at the first four of the Last Words of Christ. This Sunday, we will explore the meaning behind the fifth and sixth of the final seven words and phrases that Jesus spoke from the cross: “I thirst” and “It is finished!”At first glance, the words “I thirst” may seem like a small and insignificant moment on the day Jesus died on the cross; however, these two brief words from Christ turn out to be hugely significant, and imperative to the next of His last words: “It is finished!”
