Late 60s Hits

from TheLex

I was in college during the late 60s and enjoyed the introduction of, what was called at the time as, "psychedelic" music into main stream rock 'n roll.  But, just because a band was "heavy" didn't mean it wouldn't be a one hit wonder.  Iron Butterfly's In-A-Godda-Da-Vida was the first album ever to hit Platinum status.  But two years later, the band was on a downward spiral and played a few songs at my fraternity party at the Holiday Inn at which the band was staying.  The tunes themselves were terrific; and lots of popular songs were not Heavy.  Here's a collection of some of my favorites from that era.  Enjoy!
