Late Night Pep Talk: Pressure

from Moms Working Overtime · host Alanna Hellman

When I work with moms one-on-one, what I find most often is that the problem isn't usually that they're not putting in the work to better themselves. The real monster we're battling is the immense amount of pressure they put on themselves to be exceptional in every single area, sometimes mixed with unrealistic expectations. I'm here to break the news to you - you can't be perfect at everything. We put pressure on ourselves in SO many areas of our roles as individuals, spouses, mothers, employees, friends, and so much more. But it often isn't the different roles that are applying the pressure - it's something we create in our own head. Figuring out WHY you think the way you do and attacking the HOW differently is what helps you remove the pressure. You don't have to be anything more than what you are right now for your children. Their expectations of you, if you could sit in their thoughts for a day, are so simple. They just want you. YOU are the one that wants you to be all of these other things. Your children, they just want you. Support the showLet's connect on social media!
