Laugh It Up Fuzzball Wayback #3 - (Ep. 21) Hey Kids, Comics!

from Laugh It Up Fuzzball · host Joe "The Wookiee" Riot

Welcome to the place where I get to let my geek flag fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This is where I look into the world of geekdom and some geek news, comics, The Simpsons, Star Wars, and whatever randomness finds its way onto the recording. This level of the podcast is another wayback episode meaning we head back in time to one of the best episodes of the cast. In this case it’s a gem from December 30, 2016 with regular guest Blue. Please enjoy the first time we ever rambled geek style and thanks for giving me the extra time to deal with non-geeky life, the universe, and everything. We start off by lamenting all the wonderful entertainers we lost in 2016 and then the comic ramble begins. Here’s just some of what was mentioned & discussed: DCs New 52 Flash Batman & HUSH Adult Coloring Book The Art of Comics Jim Lee Rob Liefeld & Deadpool Conan X-Men & Nightcrawler campy comic art Spider-Man John Romita, Jr. Eastman TMNT Death of Superman and too many Supermans The Glory of Comics and the skill of paneling and storytelling Non-Superhero Comics: The Ballad of Sally Sprocket & Piston Pete (Alejandro Lee) / My Hero Academia manga / League of Extraordinary Gentlemen BvS and respecting characters Flash again Heart, humor, and spectacle in comics Social issues in the funny books Watchmen Image – The Bounce / Jupiter’s Legacy / Invincible Mark Millar The feel and smell of comical booklets Superman, the ultimate immigrant story – Red Son & Kingdom Come Frank Miller (Batman & Daredevil) The Killing Joke Villains - Black Atom, Thanos, Doomsday & Kingpin The stakes of the stories in reference to Daredevil & Superman New TMNT comics Comicons GI Joe comics & Jonboy Myers & Spawn Boom Studios – Halogen Marvel’s Original Sin Steve Rogers Captain America Skyward by Jeremy Dale Death of X To sum it all up. Comics are awesome! BUY COMICS – Support the Art form! Congrats on completing another wayback episode of the podcast. Feel free to contact me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@wookieeriot).
