Lauren Golosky Meacher- Birth during Pandemic, Gestational Hypertension, Induction with one Vaginal Birth in Hospital and Epidural

Lauren Golosky Meacher is featured on this episode, sharing the pregnancy and birth story for her daughter Cecelia.  Lauren is from Fort McMurray, AB, and though her pregnancy was pretty "textbook" for the most part, she encountered some unique obstacles navigating pregnancy during the Covid-19 global pandemic as well as a major flood in her home city.  This all resulted in less contact with her supporting doctors.  She was also diagnosed with high blood pressure during pregnancy and needed to be on medication for it.  Due to the high blood pressure, her doctors wanted her to be induced earlier than would be typical.  Lauren really wanted to avoid this if possible and pushed it off as long as possible, but inevitably made peace with the idea and went ahead with the induction which turned out to be a smooth and positive process!Support the show
