Laurie’s Biggest Shame: Eating Disorders 1

from Bold Beautiful Borderline · host Sara Amundson & Laurie Edmundson

Warning: This episode is hard as is very likely to be triggering to people who have experiences with disordered eating. Please listen with self love and take good care of yourself. We have debated not publishing this episode many times as it is less about recovery and more about currently living with mental illness and actively struggling. It was the hardest episode we have ever recorded. That said, in some ways we hope that this episode offers a glimpse into the reality of really tough conversations, boundary setting, and the deep shame and struggles that can come from mental illnesses like eating disorders. In this episode you will hear a lot of dysregulation, resistance, and resentment. Please know that Laurie and Sara are good - this is the reality of being in close friendships with BPD. We still love each other very much and have discussed how difficult this was for both of us at great lengths since recording. Resources: @binge.nutritionist on Instagramhttps://www.nationaleatingdisorders.orgBody positivity movementHealth at every sizeNational Eating Disorder AssociationNational Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders - free support groupsThis episode featured Laurie Edmundson who previously was a co-host of this project.
