LaViolette Promoted to Double-A | Cleveland Guardians News

Jace LaViolette, the Guardians’ 25th overall 2025 first-round pick and currently ranked 11th in their system, is getting a big boost—promoted to Double-A Akron after recovering from hand surgery that sidelined him last season. While some draft peers moved up earlier this month, LaViolette’s patience paid off: in 83 games at High-A Lake County, he blasted 19 homers and drove in 69 runs with a solid .238/.342/.467 line. The Guardians are clearly prioritizing player development, also assigning their 2026 draft class to Single-A Hill City to build for the future.
