Your hosts, David Masters and sister-in-law Jan, opened their discussion with a reflection on the current chaotic state of the world, prompting David to question what this chaos signifies for humanity. They focused on the “signs of the times,” referencing biblical teachings from passages in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. These signs include the rise of false prophets, wars, nations against nations, famines, earthquakes, pestilences, and widespread lawlessness, along with a growing coldness in love and the gospel being spread to all nations before the end. Jan expressed concern about the rise of lawlessness, citing examples from France where immigration has led to societal upheaval, with violent protests and destruction of public property. He drew parallels with recent events in the United States, highlighting similar occurrences during the Black Lives Matter protests in cities like Portland. This conversation steers toward recognizing these signs not as a strict timeline but as indicators urging vigilance, endurance, and faithful gospel affirmation amid a world in turmoil.
