In a much-quoted passage in the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul berates himself for doing things he does not want to do. Yet in a much-quoted teaching in the book of Matthew, Jesus says that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. How are we to make sense of these competing narratives within Christianity?
