Lawsuit challenging race-conscious financial aid heads to oral argument

The Wisconsin Supreme Court heard oral arguments today in a lawsuit examining the legality of a grant program that aims to help students of color stay enrolled in college. A state appeals court ruled last year that the program is unconstitutional. And if Wisconsin’s highest court doesn’t uphold that decision, the attorneys challenging the program warn that the case could end up in the United States Supreme Court.
