Lawsuit involving Portland students highlights statewide questions around child sex abuse

Last month, Portland Public Schools, Multnomah County and a nonprofit organization running an afterschool program were sued on behalf of an elementary schooler. The allegation from a female student and her family involves sexual harassment and unwanted touching by classmates and other children. The traumatic events occurred two years ago, when the girl was only nine years old.
