Lawyer Talk Roundtable - New Ghost Guns Law

from Lawyer Talk: Off the Record

What is the new ghost gun law from the Biden Administration? To help reduce the number of unmarked and hard-to-trace “ghost guns,” the rule establishes requirements for federally licensed firearms dealers and gunsmiths to have a serial number added to 3D printed guns or other un-serialized firearms they take into inventory. What are ghost guns made out of?Ghost guns, however, are made of parts and are then assembled together. The critical component in building an untraceable gun is what is known as the lower receiver. Some are sold in do-it-yourself kits and the receivers are typically made from metal or polymer. The kicker? Ghost guns are more expensive than buying a gun through normal channels. So why new legislation? That's what we talk about at The Round Table - and so much more.Recorded at Channel 511.Stephen E.
