Lawyers say Corrections' cuts to community bail services are keeping people in prison, not because they're a risk to the community, but because they have nowhere else to go. Iwi organisations, which until July provided six beds and wrap-around support for people on bail, have had their funding cut, leaving only 10 bail beds funded by Corrections in the entire country.
