Lazy Jack | Funny Stories

"Lazy Jack" tells the story of a very lazy boy who is finally spurred into working by his mother. Each day, Jack earns a different payment (a penny, milk, cheese, a cat, mutton), but he mishandles each one by literally following his mother's advice from the previous day's mistake (e.g., putting milk in his pocket after being told to pocket the penny). This pattern of foolishness culminates when he tries to carry a donkey home on his shoulders, following advice meant for carrying mutton.
