Le Canada à l'heure américaine, entre vassalisation et résistance

On a beaucoup parlé ces derniers temps de la rupture entre les États-Unis de Donald Trump et les Européens. Cependant, dans New Deal, nous n'avions encore jamais évoqué la question d'un pays allié, certes pas européen mais lui aussi très attaqué par le président américain: le Canada.Dès le début de son second mandat, en janvier 2025, Donald Trump avait annoncé qu'il souhaitait faire du Canada le 51e État des États-Unis. La population canadienne s'en était vivement émue à l'époque. Et il y a un mois, à Davos, le Premier ministre canadien Mark Carney a prononcé un discours très ferme, appelant les puissances moyennes à s'unir pour résister aux grands prédateurs de l'ordre international et à défendre un système fondé sur le respect du droit.Il existe aussi des sujets de fâcherie plus concrets et plus immédiats entre les deux pays, deux notamment à l'heure actuelle: une sombre histoire de pont et un mouvement pour l'indépendance dans l'Alberta, une province canadienne.
