Lead lawmaker says Europe “has given a lot” to Ukraine and must be at the peace talks table

Europe must be involved in Ukraine peace talks given its investment in the crisis, Christophe Gomart, France’s former head of Military Intelligence told Euronews in an exclusive interview.Gomart is vice-chair of the European Parliament’s committee of security and defence.The Munich Security Conference begins today amid an exceptionally tense geopolitical climate. Following former US President Donald Trump’s announcement of his intention to engage in bilateral peace negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, European leaders are grappling with significant concerns.
