LEADERS CONNECT ON COMMON GROUND WITH EMPATHY AND HUMILITY

LEADERS CONNECT ON COMMON GROUND WITH EMPATHY AND HUMILITY “Leaders need to not only understand the life they live is often privileged by comparison to those they lead, but the way they articulate their lifestyle can be hurtful. Insult to injury looks and sounds like, ‘I have this tremendous opportunity to enjoy life because I have taken advantage of people like you.’ Here’s the rub. Many leaders did not start off with privilege, wealth, power, influence and affluence. Many leaders started at the bottom and worked hard to find and experience the benefits of success and significance. The challenge for leaders like this rests in the ability to remember where they came from and maintain the relatability to express genuine concern for those who are still there. Truthful, authentic stories of your own personal struggles and victories will connect better with those you lead than flaunting the successes you now enjoy.” J Loren Norris Watch the video or catch the episode Leading Leaders Podcast 9-7-22: http://www.jlorennorris.com/podcast/leaders-connect-on-common-ground-with-empathy-and-humility Leading Leaders Podcast for Tell It Like It Is TV
