Leadership Is What You Give Away

Leadership is a synthesis of opposites. It asks you to hold a vision with clarity and determination while simultaneously releasing your grip on how that vision gets realized. That tension is not a contradiction to resolve. It is the operating condition of anyone leading well. The needle on the record player has to maintain precise, deliberate pressure, and out of that tension comes something neither the needle nor the record could produce alone.Brian draws a direct line back to the preparing room, where a candidate is divested of all metals and valuables, stripped of the tools of clinging and coercion, and made to enter without the means of buying or forcing an outcome.
