Leadership New Jersey Podcast #3: Panel Discussion of How We Get Our Money

Leadership New Jersey's goal is to expand and improve the pool of the state's civic leaders. The program, founded in 1986, honors men and women who combine a successful career with leadership in serving their communities. As part of its programming, Leadership New Jersey sponsors the Forum on the Future of New Jersey, an annual conference devoted to dealing with the key issues facing New Jersey. This year, in conjunction with the Forum, Leadership New Jersey is pleased to introduce podcasts from the Forum. In this podcast, "How We Get Our Money," Michael Willmann, LNJ '01, CEO, WMSH Marketing Communications, Inc., moderates a panel consisting of: Dennis Bone, LNJ '92 President and CEO, Verizon Before joining Verizon, Dennis was president and chief executive officer of Bell Atlantic-West Virginia, a post he held beginning in 1995. A graduate of Rutgers, he also serves on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, as well as Prosperity New Jersey and the Regional Business Partnership. Lisa Jackson Commissioner, NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection Commissioner Jackson joined the DEP in 2002 after 16 years with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Before her nomination by Governor Corzine, she served as the DEP's Assistant Commissioner for Land Use Management, heading numerous programs including Land Use Regulation, Watershed Management, and implementing the landmark Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act. John Michael Paz President, Godwin Pumps A graduate of Dickinson College, John assumed the role of president of Godwin Pumps in 1985. Headquartered in Bridgeport, Godwin is the industry leader in portable construction pumps and related accessories, employs more than 600 people, and does business on six continents. John is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Angie McGuire Deputy Chief, Office of Economic Growth Angie serves ex officio for the Governor's Office on the State of New Jersey Commission on Science & Technology. The NJCST is responsible for encouraging economic development and job growth throughout New Jersey, as well as overseeing policies and programs promoting science and technology research and entrepreneurship. Bill Schluter Former NJ State Senator A graduate of Princeton University, Senator Schluter spent almost 15 years in both the New Jersey Assembly and State Senate. He is also the co-founder and co-chair of Citizens for the Public Good, as well as the appointed Chairman of the New Jersey Citizens Clean Election Commission.
