Leadership Principles From The Last Dance

from The Help Made Millionaire Podcast · host Joel Dunn

Today's conversation between Chad Kneller and Martevious Young and I is in response to an incredible message from John Maxwell about all the leadership lessons we can learn from the life of Michael Jordan portrayed through The Last Dance.   Here are some of the high points: Experience is NOT the best teacher - you have to choose to LEARN from your experience in order to get BETTER. Sometimes wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes all by itself. There may have been 20-25 basketball players that had MORE talent than Michael Jordan... what made him great wasn't his level of talent. It was how hungry he was to be the best and to constantly be improving.  The margin between winning and losing is SO small. The daily disciplines over time are what separate those who win and those who lose. It's the tiny decisions that seem to make no difference in the moment that make ALL the difference over time.  Patience vs. Pressure -- If we put too much pressure on someone, we will repel them. We have to have the patience to lead people with the amount of weight they can handle in the season they are in.  Mental toughness is the CORE of a champion. Our mind is like a garden - if we aren't constantly in there pulling the weeds and adding the fertilizer, we lose ground.   If you prefer to watch this episode via YouTube, check it out here: https://youtu.be/q-d-uzTCclU
