Colin and Mark discuss the importance of “selling” health and safety instead of policing the concept, moving back into normality after the effects of the pandemic and what that means for safety in general, and how to be the most effective leader you can be. The people at the sharp end of the business are acutely aware of all of the safety risks, and how they can be improved. A good leader will consult and investigate with them effectively, instead of leading blindly. Checks and balances can help when it comes to metrics and measurement, but these processes must also be refined in order to reach the essence of what really matters.
